About the Campaign
On Sunday 26 October at 11:00 AM, we gathered at 523 Eccles New Road, Salford, Manchester, M50 1DN, for Health Awareness Sunday. Treasure Inclay International hosted the event through the Hands of Hope project, with support from the Community Fund. The theme was simple and clear. Know Your Numbers, Protect Your Heart. Volunteers welcomed guests, set up stations, and kept the day running smoothly.
We invited health professionals to speak. They explained why blood pressure matters, how to read systolic and diastolic values, and what healthy ranges look like. They covered practical steps you can take today, including food choices, daily movement, sleep, stress control, and smoking or alcohol reduction. Guests asked questions and received signposting to NHS services and GP registration where needed.
We carried out free blood pressure checks through the morning. After each reading, a clinician discussed the result in plain language and wrote it on a take-home card. If a reading was high, we advised a prompt follow-up with a GP and explained how to track readings over several days. People left knowing their numbers and what to do next.
To help families keep the habit at home, we gifted blood pressure monitors to about 30 families. Each family received a short demo on how to position the cuff, when to test, and how to log results. This makes it easier to spot trends, act early, and share accurate information with a GP.
The hall felt friendly and calm. We listened to music between sessions, shared light refreshments, and, for those who wished, we closed with prayer for health and healing. People stayed after the talks to chat, compare experiences, and encourage one another. Several guests told us it was their first check in years. Many left with a clear plan and fresh confidence to look after their hearts.
Thank you to every volunteer who prepared the venue, ran registrations, guided the queue, and packed down. Thank you to the clinicians who gave their time and expertise. Thank you to the Community Fund for the support that made the day possible. We will host more health days. If you want to volunteer, partner, or donate monitors for future events, contact the team and we will be in touch with next steps.
