Back to School

We hosted a Back to School support event to help families prepare for the new academic year with confidence and less pressure.

About the Campaign

We hosted a Back to School support event to help families prepare for the new academic year with confidence and less pressure. The goal was straightforward: make sure children returned to school with the essentials they need to learn well and feel good doing it.

Families were welcomed into a calm, friendly space. Volunteers helped with registration, guided parents through the process, and made sure each child was seen and supported. We spoke with parents about the challenges of back-to-school costs and offered practical help where it mattered most.

Children received school supplies, including backpacks, stationery, and other basic items needed for the classroom. Each child was encouraged to choose items themselves, helping them feel involved and excited about the new term. For many families, this support eased a real financial burden at a critical time.

We also shared simple tips with parents on preparing children for the school routine. Topics included sleep schedules, morning organisation, healthy packed lunches, and creating a quiet space for homework at home. Where needed, families were signposted to local services for additional support.

The atmosphere was warm and uplifting. Children smiled, parents relaxed, and conversations flowed easily. Many families stayed to chat, connect with one another, and encourage each other as the new school year approached.

Thank you to the volunteers who organised supplies, supported families, and kept the day running smoothly. Thank you to our partners and donors who made the event possible. We remain committed to supporting families beyond the classroom and will continue to create opportunities that help children start strong and stay confident in their education.
